Accident and Entrapment Investigations

Independent investigation of accidents, injuries and repeated entrapments.

Short answer: An elevator accident or entrapment investigation is an independent review of what happened, why it happened and whether equipment, maintenance or operation contributed. IEI documents the scene and equipment, reviews maintenance and callback records, and delivers clear findings for owners, insurers and attorneys.

What we document

  • Equipment condition and safety device operation
  • Maintenance, callback and repair history
  • Code requirements in effect for the equipment
  • Contributing causes and recommended corrections

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to report an elevator accident in Florida?

Accidents involving regulated conveyances must be reported to the authority having jurisdiction. Broward County, for example, requires an accident report within five working days. Contact your AHJ promptly and preserve records.

Never chase your elevator certificate again.

Tell us where your building is. We will confirm your certificate status, plan your inspection at least 60 days ahead and handle the follow-through.
