What is a third-party elevator inspector?
A Certified Elevator Inspector (CEI) who is not employed by the government agency or the elevator company. Florida allows owners to hire a third-party inspector to perform annual inspections and witness tests, then file the results with the authority having jurisdiction.
Do I have to use the inspector my elevator company recommends?
No. The building owner can hire any qualified inspector. Hiring your own avoids the conflict of interest of an inspector chosen by the contractor being inspected.
Never chase your elevator certificate again.
Tell us where your building is. We will confirm your certificate status, plan your inspection at least 60 days ahead and handle the follow-through.
